Umashankar Sivakumar
This is the only place I exist on the internet.
By trade I'm a software engineer in high-performance computing. The rest of the time you'll find me practicing dhrupad and khayal of the Hindustani classical tradition on sitar and surbahar, capturing black & white photographs, or on a tennis court. And somewhere in between: anime, manga, video games, music, and whatever tech project has recently taken hold.
Wander around. Stay as long as you'd like. Or say hi.
High Performance Computing
Code that simulates galaxies, folds proteins, predicts the weather. Built for the largest computers.
Hindustani Classical Music
A raga is that which colours the mind, in a thousand shades. Drawn through sitar and surbahar.
Black & White Photography
A symphony of lights and shadows. Where colour ages, monochrome holds time still.
Tennis
The rush of a clean strike, and the running, and the exhaustion, and the ball coming back at you.
Thoughts
Notes from the rest of life.
About Me
The person behind all of this.
